When trouble Lord seems to surround me (Watching over me)
Composer: | R. Mather | |
Tune: | Watching Over Me | |

When trouble Lord seems to surround me,
and my weary soul is now in need,
your light shines for me, then, through the darkness,
I know that you, Lord, are watching over me.
This path you choose for me to travel
sometimes seems so hard and far too steep.
Your loving hand then guides me onward.
I know that you, Lord, are watching over me
Lord when my life is full of richness,
please don't let me stray too far from thee.
I know all my gains are through your blessings
I know that you, Lord, are watching over me.
And when my final days are over,
and the angels come to call for me,
as I sail safely 'cross that golden river,
I know that you, Lord will be watching over me.
