I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas day in the morning.
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three,
Our Saviour Christ and His lady,
Pray whither sailed those ships all three,
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
And all the angels in Heav'n shall sing,
And all the souls on Earth shall sing
Then let us all rejoice amain,

Richard Elliott performs his organ arrangement of the English carol “I Saw Three Ships.”
I Saw Three Ships is a traditional and popular
Christmas carol from England. It is often regarded as a
children’s song, due to the simplicity and repetitiveness of its lyrics.
Some sources assert that this song is “an upbeat variant of
Greensleeves”, which has a similar meter. The earliest printed version
is from the 17th century, possibly Derbyshire.
